I Dare You by Shantel Tessier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 stars
I dare you to read this book!
Oh god! This was intense. It promised dark and delivered it. This was the first book of Shantel Tessier that I've read and I'm impressed. The content was novel and nothing like I've ever read before.
Cole Reynolds aka Shark is the leader of the group GWS i.e., Great White Sharks which is a group of five friends (eight formerly). They've known each other since they were children and play the game of I dare you. If you think the game is as simple as it sounds, then you're sorely mistaken.
The book starts with Austin Lowes witnessing the murder of a man by five people at a cemetery in a hill not far away from her house where she'd just moved in. That was her first encounter with the mighty Cole Reynolds...and then the story begins.
Murder, bullying, lies, deceptions and betrayal are the highlights of the story and the plot was absolutely amazing!
The only problem I had with this was the writing style. There were too many gonnas and wannas and too many typos to put up with. Now, English isn't my first language but I still had to stop at few sentences in wonder of the correct grammar. It is edited poorly.
Apart from that, I had fun reading this.
